Second bedroom:
I was recently asked to put up a plasterboard wall in a 1 bedroomed apartment thus making it 2 bedroomed. The owner was having trouble renting it all year round as a 1 bedroomed appartment. Each of his prospective renters were commenting that they liked the apartment only they were looking for 2 bedrooms.
Once completed the 2nd bedroom was plaster-boarded with fitted plug sockets and light switch. The 2nd bedroom measures 2 meters by 4.5 meters, leaving an ample lounge measuring 4 meters by 4.5 meters.
A local estate agent commented that the 2nd bedroom had added around 10,000€ to the value of the apartment with the whole project costing a little under 3,000€. The owner then had an increase in viewings which translanted into a 12 month rental contract.
Window:
We used to have one of those slact windows in our kitchen, which not only was insecure but also didn’t keep the wind and sometimes rain out.
I made this window to my wife’s specifications allowing her to only open half the window when it was necessary. I also added a mosquito net so she wasn’t bothered whilst she was cooking up one of her famous cakes.
I originally got a quote for a p.v.c window which was over 500€. I managed to make this one again using refurbished wood for only 50€ worth of materials.
